Ueno Park is definitely one of the best cherry blossom spots in Tokyo. But how does it look like after cherry blossoms fall? Isn’t is just a park that can be anywhere in the world? I must say Ueno Park after cherry blossoms is STILL amazingly beautiful!

1: Late-Blooming Sakura

I have been repeating that there are many kinds of cherry trees and some flourish after standard sakura. Shinjuku Gyoen Garden is very famous for late-blooming cherry blossoms in Tokyo, but I’m not saying that there are not any in Ueno Park!

Late kinds of cherry trees are planted along large Shinobazu Pond. You can’t miss it – You’ll find a pale pink area when you are proceeding to the pond.

On beautiful sunny days, the large park is so cozy in this season. The views are great, too. Tokyo Skytree is seen from Ueno Park.

Ueno Cherry Blossom Festival is just breathtaking, but I think that early summer in the park has another beauty. I wish you can feel the refreshing air from my photos!

2: Fresh Green

Fresh green and sky blue occupy large Ueno Park in late April to May.

May seems to be recognized as a beautiful season in many cultures in the world. (How about in your country?) I want to say it is so in Ueno Park, too! It is so beautiful that I am about to think that The Thinker at Western Art Museum would stand up!

People are enchanted by the refreshing views and weather and have a break at the cozy cafes.

3: Spring Peony Garden

Just after Cherry Blossom Festival, Spring Peony Garden opens at Toshogu Shrine inside Ueno Park. It’s a traditional beauty in Japan in this season!

Peonies are displayed with traditional sunshades. The quiet elegance attracts many local photographers. Why not explore it?

Most people in the world believe that Tokyo is a busy and crowded city with so many silver buildings. But it is not all of Tokyo. You’ll have a refreshing holiday in Ueno Park AFTER the Sakura Festival!
