Hello, everyone! Kawaii News of November is so SWEET! Enjoy!!
1: Tamagotchi Event at Kotori Cafe!
Celebrating the 20th anniversary, a fantastic event is being held in Japan. Kotori Cafe, which runs 3 cafes in Tokyo, collaborates with Tamagotchi and serves Mametchi & Kuchipatchi cakes on 2 – 29 November! I report everything about it in this article!
What is Kotori Cafe?
I went to Kotori Cafe Omotesando, which is in a very fashionable district in Tokyo City.
First, I must note that it’s a cafe that you’ll never find unless you know it.
Do you think Tokyo is a jungle of silver buildings? In fact, it’s just one aspect of Tokyo. There are districts with houses and small shops. Aoyama is one of them while being a cool district between Shibuya and Harajuku. Kotori Cafe is there.
Actually, I wasn’t so used to Aoyama district, so I was relieved when I found this small hand-written sign in the street.
Yes, this is! It’s so pretty, isn’t it?
“Kotori” means little birds in Japanese. Kotori Cafe is run by bird lovers, who wished to have a place where they can gather for their passion.
They keep “bird staff members” inside the cafe! To keep hygiene, they are separated from tables and chairs. But if you wish to become friends with them, the cafe offers a service to touch birds (500 yen).
Kotori Cafe features birds anywhere inside.
They also sell bird character items they selected such as bird pokemons.
It’s so pretty, isn’t it?
I know you want to see the special cakes. Now it’s time!
I was so surprised that the cake appeared in a romantic birdcage!
As Instagram gets popular, there are some people who want to shoot “picturesque foods” to share. According to the waitress, this birdcage is for pics, too.
Mametchi’s cake is yellow.
The inside is caramel mousse and caramel jelly, so it really tastes like a custard pudding!
I had a wonderful tea break with Mametchi & birds in South Aoyama.
I decided to go there again!
Kuchipatchi appeared in the romantic birdcage, too.
SO CUTE!!!!!!!! I love it so much.
The green outside is matcha mousse and the filling is azuki beans, so Kuchipatchi is so Japanese at Kotori Cafe.
Mametchi/Kuchipatchi Cake & Tea Set: 1,500 yen + tax (2 – 29 November, 2017)
It was really a wonderful experience for me.
These days, “collaboration-cafe events” are quite popular in Japan and I see many temporary “xxx (some character) cafe,” “xxx (some popular manga) cafe,” and so on, in the city. I love some of them – I once enjoyed and reported Rilakkuma Cafe and Kapibara san Cafe – but I don’t others very much because they are getting too commercial. Seeing fans taking pics and sending them to their friends is rather tiring to me. But this Tamagotchi event was completely different.
This was the best cafe event I’ve ever seen! The cozy atmospheres, common tastes between the Tamagotchi world and the cafe, and the tastes of the cakes were just perfect. I really spent a wonderful tea time and felt so relaxed.
This November, great news hit our tama fan community many times. A new Nintendo 3DS game was released on 16 November, and the original tamagotchis were finally reprinted and on sale on 23.
Thank you, tamagotchis, for being together. And thank you to my dearest followers, too.
Wish a wonderful future for Tamagotchi Planet!!

2: Tasting Sumikko Gurashi Cream Cheese Pies
Do you remember I reported the new shops in Tokyo Character Street in Tokyo Station back in September? Sumikkogurashi Shop is one of them.
This time, I planned to buy the delicious-looking cream cheese pies before I went there!
You can choose the ckkie from Lizard, Cat or Penguin design. Mine is Lizard (tokage). How does it taste?
I was impressed.
It is not too sweet, but not sour, either. It’s so smooth and milky! And the pie (quiche, officially) was so crispy.
According to the shop clerk, it is preferred to have it on the day you buy. In a fridge, best before the next next day.
How about getting CUTE fresh cream cheese pies in Tokyo Station?

3: 1st Review of Pokemon Ultra Sun & Moon
Pokemon Ultra Sun & Moon were released on 17 November.
I’d like to write my first impressions about the new adventure in Alola!
The opening was very similar to Sun & Moon. Characters were, too. So it’s like “another story” of Sun & Moon.
I wanted more interesting stories in Sun & Moon, and how will it be this time? I look forward to seeing the ending.
Difficulty of the Game
Sun & Moon was so easy for me, but Ultra Sun & Moon is even easier, isn’t it? There are so many helping items such as the golden stickers to navigate us.
Pokemon has a huge worldwide audience today. I do know that there are young children playing Pokemon. On the contrary, there are also super players who aim to become the world champion in the real world. I suppose it is a difficult time for the game designers to keep both of them. I’m worried about this situation.
UI & Other Things
It’s good that damage calculations became faster than Sun & Moon!
The graphic designs of streets and towns became more tropical, which make me happy.
This is my first review, so hopefully I’ll write another when I finish the game. I look forward to the ending.
Kawaii News – January, 2017 – In the review of Pokemon Sun & Moon, I wrote it was too easy for me. What do you think?
Hope you enjoyed Kawaii News November.
I’ve been doing some invisible development in this blog and Tokyo Direct Guide, the main site, for months. I remember so many things that happened because of TDG project. I’m so happy to be connected to you and hope you keep using my sites.
See you in December!
